Chinese national shot dead in Amansie South district

On August 30, 2024, Yao Xian, a 52-year-old Chinese national, was fatally shot in Manso Watereso, Ashanti Region.

The assailants targeted him while he was on a motorbike, shooting him in the chest around 11 a.m.

Police have arrested three suspects—Kwadwo Mensah (32), Robert Agyei (29), and Abdullah Mohammed (45)—all believed to be employees of Yao Xian.

Investigations revealed that no valuables were stolen from the victim.

Police found a pump-action gun with live ammunition in one suspect's possession, and although the suspect claimed the gun was unused, it was found to have been fired.
