The High Court in Accra has granted convicted pastor, Hammond Love, bail of GH₵2 million as he appeals his 48-month prison sentence.

Known as Pastor Love, he must provide three sureties with justifiable properties and deposit his passport, valid until at least November 2025, with the court registry.

The court also mandated that Pastor Love report to the police weekly.

Pastor Love was sentenced on October 1, 2024, for allegedly stealing a Toyota Highlander shipped to Ghana in 2016.

While pleading not guilty, he was convicted after a seven-year trial.

Dissatisfied with the ruling, his legal team argued significant trial errors and inconsistencies in evidence.

Prosecutors opposed the bail but the court, presided by Justice Naa Koowa Quarshie, ruled in favor of granting bail pending the appeal.
