GHANASCO student arrested for accidental shooting of fellow

A 20-year-old student from Ghana Senior High School (GHANASCO) has been arrested for shooting a classmate.

Abubakari Abdul Majid was taken into custody by school authorities after the incident, where he accidentally discharged a gun while posing for pictures.

The injured student, Abdullah Abdul Somed, is receiving treatment at Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Majid identified two other students as the gun's owners, who are now being sought by police.

The school is aiding in the investigation and efforts to recover the firearm.
