A 52-year-old man, Samuel Yaw Koranteng, was arrested in Nsawam after being found with a biometric verification device (BVD) belonging to the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
Local residents spotted Koranteng with the device, which was identified by its serial number.
Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Nsawam facilitated his arrest and handed him over to the police.
Mark Oliver Kevor, the NDC’s Eastern Regional Chairman, confirmed the arrest and urged the Inspector General of Police to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
