The Ghana Police Service has initiated an operation to arrest individuals identifying as "NDC Youth of Obuasi" after a viral video showed them issuing threats ahead of the 2024 General Elections.

In the video, the group accused the Electoral Commission of bias and vowed to declare their own election results if dissatisfied with the official process.

They also warned against police or military interference on election day.

The Police described their actions as "offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace," a violation of the Criminal Offenses Act, 1960 (Act 29).

A statement confirmed the operation to apprehend the suspects, emphasizing the need to ensure accountability and maintain public order ahead of the December 7 polls.
