SC to rule on whether Kan Dapaah should answer “national security” questions posed by Baker-Vormawor

Today, the Supreme Court is set to rule on whether National Security Minister Albert Kan Dapaah must respond to 17 questions posed by political activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor in a defamation case.

Barker-Vormawor alleges government officials offered him money to cease activism against the state, prompting a GH¢10 million defamation suit from Kan Dapaah.

The questions seek clarity on Kan Dapaah's involvement in National Security Council meetings and decisions regarding Barker-Vormawor and the FixTheCountry movement, despite the Minister's prior refusal citing national security concerns.

The outcome could impact the ongoing legal battle's trajectory in Accra's High Court.
