Soldier detained for allegedly raping 18-year-old girl in Bolgatanga

A military officer is under investigation for allegedly raping an 18-year-old girl at the Siim Lina Guest House in Bolgatanga on September 2, 2024.

The victim, who had only been employed at the guest house for four days, reported that the soldier threatened her with scissors and forced her into compliance after she refused his advances.

After the assault, the soldier took photos of her.

The incident has sparked outrage in the community.

Neighbors intervened, leading to the soldier's arrest by military officers from Abilba Barracks.
