Suspects who allegedly kidnapped Abetifihene denied bail

The Mpraeso Circuit Court has denied bail to 28 individuals remanded in connection with the alleged kidnap of the Abetifihene, Kwahu Adontenhene Akyemfour Asiedu Agyemang III.

The suspects were part of a group that attempted to destool Akyemfour Asiedu Agyemang III, who is currently acting as President of the Kwahu Traditional Area.

Their lawyer, Nkrabea Effah Dartey, was unsuccessful in securing bail on November 14.

The court, presided by Her Lordship Adwoa Akyemaa Ofosu, remanded them into police custody until their next appearance on November 27, 2024.

The Abetifi Palace spokesperson, Nana Saka Darko, supported the court's decision as investigations continue.
