Three feared dead in communal clash in Wa West

Three people are feared dead following violent clashes between residents of Kendew and Lassia Tuolu in the Wa West District over ritual practices.

Gunfire exchanges led to the deaths, with two victims dying on the spot and a third later succumbing to injuries.

Several arrests have been made, and heavy security is deployed to the area.

Investigations are ongoing, with some suspects released on bail.

Among the deceased is a teacher from Lassia Tuolu. Local MP Peter Lanchene Toobu is in discussions with the police, and a press conference is expected soon. Injured individuals are reported to be in stable condition.
