Lawyer for the #StopGalamseyNow protesters, Noah Adamptey, stated they were not entirely surprised by the court's decision to deny bail to #FixTheCountry convener, Oliver Barker-Vormawor.
Adamptey noted they anticipated this outcome, as Barker-Vormawor is already on trial for treason.
Barker-Vormawor was arrested during an anti-galamsey protest for allegedly removing the keys to a police van.
The court denied bail, citing concerns he might reoffend.
Meanwhile, another protester, Felicity Nelson, was granted bail of 20,000 cedis with two sureties.
The case raises concerns about civil rights and environmental advocacy in Ghana.
