Ghanaian students on scholarship in Morocco demonstrate over delayed stipend

Ghanaian students in Morocco, under the Morocco scholarship program, have protested at the Ghana Embassy on May 24 over delays in stipend disbursement.

The prolonged delay has caused significant hardship, including eviction threats, academic challenges, and emotional distress.

The students urged the government, Ministry of Finance, and Scholarship Secretariat to expedite the process.

One student highlighted the severity of the situation, noting, "Our landlords are chasing us out, some are sleeping outside, and others are in debt or depressed."

The students warned that without intervention, the situation could lead to dire consequences.
