Windows to Ghana in Australia

Through ‘Windows to the World’, a programme designed by the ACT Government to showcase Embassies to the world, the High Commission of Ghana in Canberra gave the Australian public the opportunity to taste, see and feel Ghana.

Visitors to the Ghana stand had the opportunity to taste assorted Golden Tree Chocolate and pebbles and also get informed about the Cocoa Industry in Ghana.

Information brochures on investment opportunities such as ‘Doing Business in Ghana’, ‘Ghana Incentives Inventory’, ‘The Cocoa Industry’ and ‘Ghana in Pictures’ were also distributed to patrons. On display were a wide array of made-in-Ghana items including, Ghanaian made Fabrics (GTP), the legendary Kente Cloth, Kente Stolls, Beads and accessories, drums as well as handmade artifacts and other wooden carvings.

Other participating Embassies and High Commissions in the maiden ‘Windows to the World’ exhibition at the Floriade Grounds included Ethiopia, Egypt, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kosovo and Bangladesh.

Windows to the World provides the rare opportunity to see behind the gates of Embassies and High Commissions resident in Australia’s Capital City, Canberra. It was a unique chance to experience at first hand, the different cultures from across the globe, represented in Australia whilst enjoying the beautiful floral garden popularly known as ‘Floriade’ and intricate architecture of the Capital City.
