Tamale South MP, Haruna Iddrisu, has called for President Akufo-Addo's resignation over his failure to stop illegal mining (galamsey).
Speaking on Joy FM's Super Morning Show, Iddrisu criticized the President for not fulfilling his 2017 pledge to tackle the issue, despite claiming he would put his job on the line.
Iddrisu argued that in any civilized democracy, such failure would have led to the President's resignation.
He also expressed doubt about the current leadership's ability to effectively address galamsey, which continues to harm the environment and local communities.
