Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mustapha Gbande, has urged the Manhyia Palace to avoid involvement in partisan politics amid concerns over the NPP nominating royal Matthew Opoku-Prempeh as its vice-presidential candidate.
Gbande warned that associating with the NPP could tarnish Manhyia's historically neutral reputation and diminish its support among Ghanaians.
He stressed that the NPP should be held accountable for economic mismanagement, not the Palace, and expressed hope that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II would maintain Manhyia's neutrality.
Gbande also criticized Opoku-Prempeh's nomination, stating it adds no significant value to the NPP's electoral prospects.
