Organised Labour has intensified protests against the management of pension funds, demanding full control of the Board Chairmanship of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

They argue that SSNIT is failing to deliver positive returns for pensioners and workers in Ghana.

This follows earlier protests, led by MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, against the sale of SSNIT hotels to a company owned by Agric Minister Bryan Acheampong.

Despite President Akufo-Addo's claim that a nationwide strike was unnecessary, Labour insists that only a board overhaul can secure workers' interests.

Ultimately, Rock City Hotel withdrew its bid to purchase the hotels.
