The Convention People's Party (CPP) has criticized President Akufo-Addo for his Founders' Day speech on August 3, where he dismissed the idea that Ghana was founded by one person, emphasizing a collective effort.

The CPP, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s party, called this an "unfortunate gaffe," arguing the day celebrates Nkrumah's pivotal role in Ghana’s independence.

They urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to leave a positive legacy instead of undermining Nkrumah’s contributions.

The CPP highlighted the historical context of Nkrumah’s leadership and accused the NPP of distorting facts to diminish his legacy.
