The Minority in Parliament has vowed to oppose President Akufo-Addo's attempts to fill vacancies in the Supreme Court.
During Parliamentary proceedings, the Minority opposed the vetting of two Appeal Court judges nominated by the President, arguing it was unconstitutional to replace a judge due to impending retirement.
The Appointments Committee's vote ended in a 7-7 tie, effectively dismissing the motion.
NDC member Ayariga Mahama stated that the party is committed to preventing what they view as court-packing by the President, aiming to ensure future judicial appointments are balanced and just.
