Acheampong To Be Next IGP

Credible information available to pressmen indicates that Mr. Patrick Acheampong, currently Deputy Inspector-General of Police/Operations will be the next Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

There had been intense lobbying but analysts believe Mr. Acheampong will be given the nod based on seniority. The lobbying has been so intense that it is believed that the other two who were also being considered are likely to be retired from the Service to ensure smooth running of the service.
