Veteran Ghanaian award-winning actress and business owner, Akofa Edjeani has empathized with victims of the Kumasi Market Fire.
The actress who has starred in dozens of movies over the years has shared her views and sympathy to the victims of the Sunday fire outbreak.
Turning to her Facebook page, the actress indicated how sad the incident Was and has called on the necessary bodies to join hands in averting the future repetition of such occurrences.
She wrote:
“I have learnt of the recent fire outbreaks in the Kumasi Central Market and the Asafo Market. The issue of fire outbreaks especially in the Kumasi Central Market has become a routine as it keeps repeating every single year.
My heart goes out to all whose products and shops have been consumed by the inferno. As a single mother and an entrepreneur, I feel the pain of all Market women affected by this. It is my hope that the government and all relevant organizations find lasting solutions to this recurring fire outbreaks in our markets. Again, I read of some 33 people arrested in connection with the fire. I entreat the police and all bodies responsible for dealing with this matter to investigate and prosecute whoever is found culpable in this very important issue bothering security in our markets.
Once again, I empathize with all those affected by this ugly incident.”
The highly revered actress who turned 50 this year has starred in lots of movies over the past 3 decades and has won for herself the admiration of the public.
