The Supreme Court has upheld the FDA's ban on celebrities endorsing alcoholic drinks, ending a lengthy legal battle initiated by Mark Darlington Osae.
Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo stated the directive does not violate the constitution.
The FDA implemented the rule in 2015 to curb alcohol influence on minors through celebrity endorsements.
Osae, representing Black Kulcha Music, argued the ban discriminates against the creative arts industry, citing constitutional rights to equality.
Celebrities like Wendy Shay and Shatta Wale previously opposed the regulation, emphasizing its impact on their livelihoods.
The ruling now permanently prohibits well-known figures from alcohol advertising campaigns in Ghana.
