Kumawood Actor Kwaku Manu has asked Gabby Asar Otchere-Darko to desist from insulting the intelligence of Ghanaian actors and actresses if he has no help for the movie industry, MyNewsGh.com reports.
Last year, Mr Otcehere-Darko who is a leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP in a tweet indicated that he had watched several Ghanaian movies but they were not standard; an indication of the poor work done by stakeholders in the industry.
This tweet was met with insults and differing opinions from some actors and actresses in the country including Kafui Danku, Yvonne Nelson who thought the best Gabby could have done was to encourage players in the industry rather than condemning their works they invested huge sums of monies to.
Speaking on the issue with Yvonne on Cooking with “cooks and braggarts”, Kwaku Manu mentioned that if Gabby Otchere Darko does not have any help for industry, she should forever hold his peace if he has nothing to offer the Ghana Movie industry.
He mentioned that it is insane for any individual to compare Ghana’s poor industry to that of Hollywood that has all the funding and needed equipment for work.
