BBC Africa Eye, released a documentary that looked at the ever popular but unfavorable sex for grades phenomenon in schools.
The investigation, which took over nine months to complete, focused at two major universities in West Africa; University of Ghana, and the University of Lagos.

Actress and movie producer Yvonne Nelson, also took to social media to share her views on the trending issue, but this tweet didn’t go down with a lot of people.
According to Yvonne Nelson, people have stopped covering up; they keep showing their bodies freely on social media and wondered when that will change.
She tweeted: “Sex for grades! Sex for jobs! Sex for everything in our part of the world! Your brains don't matter here. It’s the covered parts they want, oh wait, these parts arent covered anymore... it's free on social media. Will it ever change?"
Whiles some of her fans agreed with her, others accused her of victim-shaming those that were preyed on by the lecturers, and asked her to use her platform to encourage the victims instead ‘doing respectability politics’
@Biliquis_X said “This is so embarrassing because you had bikini pictures on your IG and a child out of wedlock which are things these men will use to shame you even though it’s nothing to be ashamed about but you’re here doing respectability politics like it will protect you” and ended with ‘clown’ emojis.
