Ghana’s ambassador to Japan honours Santrofi during Tokyo concert

Ghanaian band Santrofi is gaining acclaim for promoting Ghana through their global tours, including a current 13-city tour in Japan.

Dubbed ‘Ghana’s ambassadors of culture’ by the Japanese, they received accolades from Ghana’s ambassador to Japan for their performances.

Organized by Minon, founded by Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, the tour features highlife and Ghanaian music, showcasing local culture and attire.

Santrofi's meticulous preparation included translating lyrics into Japanese and explaining the origins of highlife music.

They have also spotlighted Ghanaian artists like Sarkodie and Kuami Eugene in Japanese media, aiming to broaden awareness of Ghanaian arts abroad.
