Lynx Entertainment label star Kuami Eugene has revealed that it’s not part of his plans to perform his former label mate, MzVee’s songs.
Kuami Eugene and MzVee have recorded several back-to-back hits together under Lynx Entertainment, with the former being the top benefactor.
MzVee featured Kuami Eugene on two hit singles, “Bend Down” and “Rewind”. Kuami also wrote and produced songs for her.
But Kuami Eugene says he won’t perform any of the songs he worked on for MzVee.
“They are not my songs; I’ll perform my original songs,” he told MzGee. “‘Rewind’ is not my song; it hers. I can’t perform.”
He continued: “Besides, God, being so good, I have enough songs to perform rather than perform the old songs I did with [Mz]Vee. Even when she was with us, I didn’t perform her songs so why now?”
He said performing collaborations with MzVee hasn’t been his ritual because he has enough hit songs to perform.
“I wasn’t used to performing that songs I did with MzVee because I have ‘Adwinfi’, ‘Angela’, ‘Confusion’, ‘Wish Me Well’ and ‘Carry Last’ to perform.”
When asked why he is indifferent about MzVee, he said he loves and care about her, adding that MzVee owes him no gratitude for producing and writing songs for her because he did all that out of love.
“I care about MzVee. If not, I wouldn’t have written ‘Daavi’ and ‘Come and See My Moda’ and even produced the song at 3 am instead of sleeping.”
“So, I love MzVee that much. I think about her a lot. I don’t think she has to show gratitude to me. She doesn’t owe me one. She should just be herself.”
