'I never said I was going to win BET' - Gifty Osei

Controversial female gospel musician and gospel song nominee for the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), Gifty Osei, has denied saying she would be the first Ghanaian gospel artiste to win the BET awards.

It was widely reported that Gifty Osei had said that she would be the first female gospel musician to win the BET.

However, appearing on GH Entertainment over the weekend, the musician said she was only admonishing colleague musicians to up their game so they can equally gain recognition internationally.

According to her, she was expressing optimism that should musicians in Ghana churn out good and well produced songs, they will surely gain international recognition and get nominated for BET awards and subsequently win.

She has also expressed confidence in winning the Gospel Artiste of the year. According to the ‘Empress One, her ‘Adom’ made great impact, had massive airplay, I had lots of shows to perform, I had lots of international concerts and all these make me relevant in the industry, which give me upper hand over my competitors’.
