I’ve not made anything out of acting – Adwoa Smart

Belinda Naa Ode Oku, popularly called Adwoa Smart, has revealed, that her years in the acting industry have not been financially rewarding.

Adwoa Smart has been in the film industry since the 80s when she was discovered by Grace Omaboe.

She has since performed in a number of television dramas and stage productions for Obra, Efiewura and also featured in a number of films.

Despite these accomplishments, she has disclosed, that she is not financially comfortable.

When asked why this was the case, she had this to say, “During our days, we weren’t paid as much as they are getting now. The money was literally hand to mouth”.

Speaking to Akwasi Aboagye and monitored by zionfelix.net, the veteran actress added that her earnings in the industry was only sufficient for payment of her bills and living expenses, but not enough to save towards acquiring any property.
