Singer Kelvin Boy’s Champs Bar gig last night was marred by punches and reports of gunshots in a fracas between mentor Stonebwoy and Zylofon Music executive Bulldog (Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson).
Eyewitnesses claim that the confrontation was as a result of an attempt by Bulldog and his men to seize Stonebwoy’s Mercedes Benz when the singer’s younger brother went to get something from the vehicle. The car key was reportedly snatched from him, together with a wallet containing about GHC 5000.
Narrating the incident to the press, Stonebwoy recounted that but for the timely intervention from his security, Bulldog and his entourage would have made away with the car: “I just got off the stage at Legon [Liman Hall], and it was a super performance like I always do. So we drove over to Champs for the next event. We were chilling in the room and then we heard bang…”
“They hit [my brother] on the lips, they took the car keys from him and they sat in the car…if not for my bodyguard, they would have driven my car away and that would have been something else,” he said.
He also lamented the impunity with which some individuals take the law into their own hands, indicating that his manager, Sidi Mohammed is currently handling the situation: “I think in this country so many people are taking the law into their own hands because certain people in authority give them their support,”
A complaint of assault has since been reported to the Nima Police, and attempts to reach Bulldog proved futile as our calls went unanswered.
