Make Zanetor your running mate – Efiewura actress to Mahama

Ghanaian actress Mercy Little who features in the Efiewura series, has asked the leadership of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to choose Ms Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, a daughter of former President Jerry John Rawlings, as the running mate to former President John Mahama for the 2020 elections.

In her view, the Member of Parliament for the Klottey Korle constituency has what it takes to be Ghana’s Vice-President.

Mercy Little further said if Ms Agyeman-Rawlings is chosen, more women will be empowered to aspire to higher political positions in the country to effect change.

She told Nana Romeo, host of Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra100.5FM on Thursday, 28 November that: “I think Zanetor Rawlings is the best person to partner John Mahama for the 2020 elections because she can do the job.”

“The time has come for us to change the trend where only men are selected as running mates.

“This is the time for a woman to be appointed and if that is done, it will empower more women to go into leadership positions.

“Liberia had a female president and, so, Ghana can equally have a female running mate”, she noted.
