Actor Kwaku Manu has admitted that the movie industry would have been vibrant by now if MenzGold did not have issues leading to the downfall of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nana Appiah Mensah alias NAM 1.
According to him, Nana Appiah Mensah had good plans for the industry and could have revived its sinking fortunes if he was still the “NAM 1” he used to be.
He indicated that the movie industry’s struggle has always been money and Nana Appiah Mensah was willing to help.
He said “that is why I was very sad and worried when Menzgold’s Nana Appiah Mensah got into trouble because he had very good plans for the industry. It is rather unfortunate that his plans didn’t see the light of day because of the challenges his company went through”.
He indicated that the needed investment should be made into the movie industry because it will go a long way to help improve the economic fortunes of the country.
“We have only one National Theatre in the country. The government should put up a cinema house in every regional capital where producers can premiere their movies and also show them. This will certainly go a long way to revive the industry,” he added.
