Nigerian gospel actor, Moses Korede Are ‘Baba Gbenro’ of Abattoir fame ‘is dead

The Nigerian gospel film industry mourns the loss of veteran actor Moses Korede Are, best known as “Baba Gbenro” in the Mount Zion series Abattoir.

His passing was announced by fellow actor Oluwaseun Adejumobi on Instagram, expressing his sorrow with, “Heaven’s Gain Again.”

Tributes have poured in, with gospel actor Zoe Adeola praising Are’s memorable role in Abattoir on X.

Born on June 11, 1959, Are spent his early years in Kano State, Nigeria, and completed his education in southwestern Nigeria.

His contributions left a lasting impact on the gospel film industry.
