In recent times, taxes have been increased and the price of basic commodities keep soaring.

There have been agitations from Some drivers over the increase in fuel prices for the second pricing window in September.

Some economists, members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and many Ghanaians, have criticized government for failing to fix the cedi’s fall, and also deal with its general impact on the larger economy.

Also, the Centre for Socioeconomic Studies (CSS) has revealed that over three million Ghanaians have been affected by job losses between 2017-2018.

According to the civil service organisation, Ghana's employment sector has been characterised by massive job cuts owing to economic meltdown, with several organizations downsizing their workforce to keep within efficient operational budgets.

It is against this backdrop that the Ghanaian actress took to social media to vent her anger on the lack of empathy by 'those in high places'.
