South African musician threatens to kidnap Shatta Wale

A dancehall artiste in South Africa calling himself “The Original dancehall General” has threatened to kidnap self-proclaiming king of dancehall in Ghana, Shatta Wale.

In a video that was sighted by YEN.com.gh on celebrity instagram page known as “Those called celebs”, the South African musician was fuming about the beef between Shatta Wale and Nigeria’s Wizkid.

He revealed that he did not understand why Shatta Wale would refuse to see Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun as a superstar. He went on to indicate that he was going to kidnap Shatta Wale with the help of some AK-47 guns. He threatened to teach Shatta Wale a lesson should he step into South Africa and urged Shatta Wale to ask about him.

The South African artiste continued to insinuate that unlike Shatta Wale, he was not going to fire bullets into the air to scare people off but was rather going to use his gun on the Ghanaian dancehall artiste should he catch him.

The South African artiste was seen in the company of some people believed to be crew members and they took turns to appear in the video to show how serious they were with their threats.

Shatta Wale caused a social media storm between himself and some Nigerians when he made comments in an interview and indicated that he did not consider Wizkid to be a superstar.

The comments generated heated arguments between Shatta Movement fans and ardent fans of Nigeria’s Wizkid. The war of words did not end there as Shatta Wale was seen in a number of videos sticking to his view and even going further to ‘threaten’ Nigerian artistes.

Shatta Wale was later seen in a video firing live rounds from a pistol and it was purported that he was sending a warning to some Nigerian artistes.

He then went on to record a diss song directed at Nigeria’s Timaya who indicated that he did not know Shatta Wale.

In a related incident, the “Ayoo” hit maker was seen in a video slapping one of his bodyguards at the S Concert. It cannot be ascertained whether the slap was justified with the presence of a fan on stage or whether it was a punishment to the bodyguard for allegedly manhandling the fan.
