British Vogue's editorial director, Chioma Nnadi, expressed concern over the fashion industry’s shift back to favoring skinny models, linking the trend partly to the rise of weight-loss drugs like Ozempic.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4, Nnadi highlighted the negative cultural shift around body image and the lack of body diversity at recent fashion weeks, where thinner models dominated.
She emphasized the importance of representing all body types in fashion but noted magazines alone cannot drive change, as designers largely create sample-size clothing.
Nnadi hopes the industry will reverse this trend and continue making progress on inclusivity.
Ozempic, an appetite suppressant, has gained popularity in the US and UK, fueling discussions about its impact on body standards.
