Host of Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5Fm, Kojo Preko Dankwa has reacted to Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Samira Bawumia after her photo with Kumkum Bhagya stars suffused online.

The presenter who expressed strong disapproval over the second lady’s actions of taking photos with the Indian Telenovela actors and actresses quizzed “what really motivated our 2nd lady to pay a visit to those players?”

Kojo Preko Dankwa shared his disgust on his Facebook Timeline:

“Should I get worried with this industry called creative Arts in this country? At the time the country is seriously worried and fighting the canker of foreign content flooding our television stations with impunity and no control, fighting to see our cultural policy resurrect and keep the vision of this country alive; l believe truthfully that it’s a bad PR for the industry to see our 2nd lady Samira Bawumia seemingly endorsing a foreign content./product

1- what really motivated our 2nd lady to pay a visit to those players ?

2- the stop over she did, really did not step on the doors of any other apart from ultimately endorsing what we trying to stop

Were her handlers really paying attention to the PR consequences to the industry, the perception of endorsement of foreign content?”

With the love Ghanaians have for the Indian series, it comes as quite the delightful surprise to see our Second Lady, Samira Bawumia meeting one of the stars of the show, Shivani Sopori. During one of her stops in India, Samira visit the set of the popular show to meet and interact with some of the cast.

The photo of the pair was posted on Instagram by Shivani (the character Pammi in the series) who described the meeting as an honour and a pleasure.

However, most players in the movie industry have strongly opposed the influx of these telenovelas in the country because it is killing the already struggling local movie industry.
