Ghanaian dancehall artist Ras Kuuku, known for winning the 2020 TGMA ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’ award, has expressed frustration over the lack of recognition for him and fellow artist Yaa Pono within the Ghanaian music scene.
In an interview on Hitz FM, he voiced disappointment at being overlooked despite his contributions to nurturing young artists, some of whom failed to acknowledge him after achieving fame.
Ras Kuuku highlighted his role in mentoring emerging talents, noting that even popular figures like Ebony received support from him early on.
He also claimed to be Ghana’s top live performer, although he feels he has had limited opportunities to fully demonstrate his abilities.
