A Letter to Our Great President

on the Issue of His Residence:

Hello Mr. President,

I first of all want to say what a fantastic job you have done in your first months of power. I admire your articulate communication and your outstanding integrity and I think that you are the right man for the job. I also want to congratulate you on your successful hosting of President Obama. The reason I write you this e-mail to ask you to consider occupying the Golden Jubilee House. It was built as a symbol of Ghana's growth and development and whether it was a waste of funds that could have been allocated to other sectors of growth or life, it was used to build a beautiful presidential complex for our president. It brings our seat of power back to where it first used to be and where Kwame Nkrumah, the father of our nation, wanted it to be. Our seat of power should not be situated in a castle built by our colonial masters. We need to break free of their authority and establish our own. The Golden Jubilee House stands as a symbol for Ghana's majestic greatness and new power and strength. I therefore think that you should consider moving your offices and residence to the presidential complex. To let it sit there and deteriorate is more of a crime than the "waste" it was to build it. No matter what we do it has been built and to just abandon it and let 50 million dollars go to waste is wrong and I know that you think so too. It was built for a purpose and that is to serve as a seat of power for our great nation and I think that's what it should be used for.
