Nana Akufo-Addo, a couple of days ago has tried in vain to disentangle himself from the looting and sharing of government lands at prime areas in Accra, Kumasi, and other regional capitals. In trying to extricate himself from this national thievery, he ended up stripping the chief supervisor of state property looting, former President Emperor Bokassa J.A. Kufuor completely naked and himself more exposed.
The Dankwa-Busia political grouping, NPP, thinks that Ghanaians are so stupid and have very short memories. As a result of this belief, Nana Akufo-Addo wanted to disassociate himself from the looting scandals because he fears that their land looting will definitely become a major issue for the 2012 electioneering campaign. This will have a devastating effect on his chances of becoming President; in fact, Nana Akufo-Addo believes that the Presidency is his birth right (entitlement). It is not enough to reject the” kind” offer by Emperor Bokassa J.A. Kufuor on the ground that it is unethical for Kufuor and his NPP cronies and government officials to allocate state lands which has been entrusted in their care to themselves. As someone who claims he believes in Ghana, who wants to be President Nana Akufo-Addo should have advised his colleagues about the immorality of the stealing of our lands, Bungalows and monies.
Nana Akufo Addo’s attempts to distance himself from this national disgrace (NPP’s looting of Ghanaians’ properties) by bringing to the public domain that he rejected the offer of the allocated land will not fly. Akufo Addo wants to show to Ghanaians about his “moral high ground”. Nana Akufo Addo wants to present himself as the good guy. Ghanaians are wiser and more intelligent than he gives them credit for, Nana. The best Nana could have done to Ghanaians he is seeking to “Lord over” is to vehemently resist this from happening, not distancing himself from it because the public is now aware.
It is not enough for Nana Akufo Addo to only reject the offer of the looted land. As a lawyer Nana claims to be, he should have gone steps further with courage, to tell his colleague NPP looters and cronies that it was not only unethical for government officials and party cronies to allocate to themselves state lands which have been entrusted in their care by the good people of Ghana but immoral and very offensive and insulting to the intelligent of the good people of Ghana.
It was the same Nana Akufo Addo who wanted to bring drug barons in foreign jails to Ghana to serve their jail terms and in so doing bring his colleague, (Dis)Hon. Amoateng, an NPP Member of Parliament and a convicted drug dealer closer to home and then use Ghanaian tax payers’ money to look after him. How did Nana Akufo Addo, as the foreign Minister handled the killing of our brothers in the Gambia?
Another stinking crony who participated in the looting of Ghanaian lands is the Chief Justice, Mrs. Georgina Theodora Woods. As a Chief Justice who is at the pinnacle of the law profession, Ghanaians expected her to know better but she chose to steal our land. By this thievery action of the Chief Justice, she has compromised her position and cannot therefore be trusted to be fair in these matters in the law courts. It is a disgrace for this Chief Justice to behave the way she did without shame.
We all know how she became the Chief Justice. She became the Chief Justice as a reward for her role in the MV Benjamin Cocaine affairs. She helped conceal the real players in the drug deal and deliberately implicated (scapegoats) Tagor and his friend as well ACP Kofi Boakye. It is only someone who does not know shame that would continue to be hanging on as a Chief Justice. It would serve her and the country well if she would resign her position with immediate effect. It is not enough for her to say she revokes her interest in the looted land. CJ Wood, over to you! Do the honorable thing for the sake of Mother Ghana and resign!
