NDC Deputy Minister, Ayariga: Youth Must Provide Jobs For Themselves.
The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Mahama Ayariga, on Monday advised Ghanaian youth not to always expect the government to provide jobs for them, but rather be on their own to get jobs for themselves.
“Entrepreneurs operates jobs and boosts economy”, the Youth must not therefore wait for the Government to feed them with jobs.
The Deputy Minister said the government was aware of the challenges that entrepreneurs faced in terms of access to finance and other obstacles in their attempt to create jobs for themselves.
He, however, said there were financing facilities that had been established with the hope that enterprises would have access to funding, thus where the Youth could raise Loans to manage their own affairs and make their ideas happen.
Mr. Stephen Gyasi-Kwaw, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Enhancement International (YEI), said it was important that young people believed in themselves and strived to make their ideas happen.
Both the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Mahama Ayariga and Mr. Stephen Gyasi-Kwaw, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Enhancement International, seem to be very good theoretically but I am very sure when it comes to practice they will begin to be stammering and shivering.
How do they expect a young man who is just starting life in Ghana to acquire a loan from the bank or where ever, without any collateral or surety to begin as an entrepreneur?
Where then is the promise by the NDC to get every “Tom Dick and Harry” in Ghana moving and kicking with their pockets filled with money?
Now they are saying the poor Ghanaian youth must be struggling alone with their own destiny finding loans to create their own jobs. “Is that not a Better Ghana”?
