.... The Judiciary Before Fighting Corruption In Ghana
Most politicians and some Public Servants are too selfish and greedy that they talk too much and do little. Our political leaders and public servants forget their religious principles and warnings in their daily lives when they come to public office. They read the Bible and the Holy Koran just for reading sake and forget what they always read, so we have so many church goers with few Christians. We also have so many Mosque goers with few Muslims, but if only the Alhajis and Hajias who traveled to Mecca, the Holy Land and back would actually put their fear down and educate Moslems about the true message in the Holy Koran, there will be total peace in Ghana since Islam stands for peace. Through their efforts there is peace in Ghana, but it is not enough, we need more prayers. “I tell you the truth, Jesus warned his followers saying: There is nothing Concealed, that will not be Disclosed, or Hidden that will not be made Public. What you have said in the Dark, will be heard in the Day Light, and what you have whispered in the ear in Inner Rooms will be proclaimed from the Roof Tops. Luke 12:2-3. Jesus went on to say that whatever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7. We all pray to God for Long Live always, because we fear death, but we continue running away from the TRUTH DAILY and yet we describe ourselves as Christians and Moslems, so whom are we deceiving in this country I beg to ask?
In my opinion, the greatest homage one can pay to the TRUTH is to use it, but here in Ghana, we hate the truth; how many years are we going to live on this Earth? Grey hairs are signs of wisdom so we must respect it.
THE ONE THOUSAND PANODORA’S BOXES OF THE NPP AND THE DANGER AHEAD.
It will be recalled that former President Kufuor told Ghanaians that the NDC can never win any case against his government in court-and went ahead to manipulate and use the judiciary to jail innocent Ministers of state who worked under President Rawlings from 1993-2000.
The former President of the Ghana Bar Association, Mr Ebo Quarshie declared that the GBA’s philosophy is the same as the NPP’s philosophy, in effect he is telling Ghanaians that the GBA is an integral wing of the then ruling NPP up to date 2013. Now, if a blind man challenges you in a stone throwing competition, it means that he is stepping on more stones, so since the Ghana Bar Association is an integral wing of the NPP, the current Chief Justice (CJ) did not hide her political colors when she openly joined in the chorus of government apologies to Ghanaians on behalf of the then ruling NPP government. On 22nd December 2008, the Chief Justice who is obliged by Ghana’s Constitution to be INDEPENDENT and NEUTRAL apologized to the 5000 Commercial Drivers who were all imprisoned by the NPP government in 2007 for minor traffic offences.
The Chief Justice stated that it was the wrongful application of the law which had resulted in their jailing under the NPP government. The Chief Justice also effected THE TRANSFER OF 190 CASES IN THE Central Region for the same effect. Now, the Independence of the judiciary was seriously compromised by the blatant way in which the Chief Justice of Ghana had allowed the Judiciary to become a TOOL in the hands of the violent prone NPP government between 2001-2008 , and that was the reason why Ex-Prez Kufuor boldly told Ghanaians that the NDC will never win any case against his government in court.
When the NPP realized that they were losing the 2008 general elections to the late Professor J.E. A Mills, they hurriedly prepared a FAKE HIT LIST with names of eminent people including Men of God that were to be killed if the NDC won the 2009 Run-off. The contents of the Pandora’s Boxes of the NPP include the following;
1. IFC SCAM
2. 5TH JULY 2002-NPP in $1billion “419” scam
3. THE CNTCI SCAM from a reputable Chinese company.
4. CHINESE SALOON LOAN
5. MISSING $1446396 at the Ministry of Foreign affairs under Nana Akuffo Addo in 2005 when he was the Foreign Minister.
6. The Auditor General’s Report of 2005.
7. The Auditor General’s Report of 2008.
8. The Ghana@50 Pillage by the NPP.
9. The Looting of the NHIS.
10. SSNIT MONIES TAKEN FOR GHANA @50 NOT ACCOUNTED FOR
11. THE TOR DEBT RECOVERY LEVY
12. NPP LOOTED THE SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMME
13. FORGED SIGNATURES ON APPOINTEMENT LETTERS OF CATERERS AT ASOKWA AND ASAWASE CLUSTER OF SCHOOLS ALL IN KUMASI.
14. A WHOPPING GH¢234.15 BILLION were taken away from the vaults of the Bank of Ghana without the knowledge of the Vaults Manager, and when that Manager complained, he was sacked on 28th May 2007, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia was there as Deputy Governor at the Bank of Ghana, and yet he wanted to become the Vice President of Ghana in 2012.
15. COCAINE TRAFFICKING WAS LEGALISED UNDER THE NPP GOVT.
16. STATE BUNGALOWS AND PRIME LANDS FOR NPP LEADERS.
17. An amount of Gh¢50 million was spent on NPP’s so-called Security Operations.
18. Mr. Sakyi Hughes, NPP Speaker of Parliament took away all the furniture from his official residence including his door mat and even brooms.
19. In April 2006 the US Drug Enforcement Agency informed the NPP Government that a ship load of Cocaine was heading towards Ghana. They informed the NPP Government that the name of the ship was called MV Benjamin Carrying 77 Parcels of Cocaine but the NPP did nothing about it. We must not sweep all these under the carpet, and allow the NPP to fool about.
20. The East Legon Cocaine Saga and many more, now what this writer wants to put across is that all these massive corruption mentioned above have been left inside a thousand boxes locked with huge padlocks because of the Presidential Commission set up by the late President Mills of blessed memory who should have handed the suspects to the Security Agencies to investigate and send them to the Court but that was no to be. The government should check the LINKAGE between the NPP AND THE Judiciary since they were and are still in one bed.
PREZ. MAHAMA FIGHTS CORRUPTION
When he was accused of not doing enough to fight corruption he said and 1 quote. “Those who accuse me of not doing enough to fight corruption does not know me well. This was a straight but simple reply to his critics. The President alone can never ever fight corruption since he is only one person, but will the NPP dominated Ghana Bar Association be honest and patriotic enough to help the President fight corruption in Ghana since their party is not in power? Will the Current chief Justice who is obliged by Ghana’s Constitution to the INDEPENDENT and Neutral but has become a card bearing member of the NPP also remove her Political Lenses and help the President Fight Corruption in Ghana since her party is not in power? The Achilles heels of the ruling NDC Government are the Ghana Bar Association and Judiciary headed by Mrs. Georgina Wood and if the Judiciary and the Ghana Bar Association refuse to cooperate with the various investigative Agencies that would be sending corrupt public civil servants to the courts for corruption, the fight against corruption will simply become a nine day wonder, and when that happens, nobody must blame our baby faced President who will be leaving the Flag Staff House in 2021, because he has played his constitutional role in fighting corruption. We must all support the president collectively as a nation in his efforts to fight corruption. The President cannot dismiss any judge for misconduct; it is the duty of the Chief Justice since the Judiciary is independent. You see, Ghanaians cherish Justice more than wealth. The Attorney General can not go to court and persecute anybody unless the investigative bodies notably the Police C.I.D., EOCO, CHIRAJ submit some incriminating evidence to him. Corruption breeds poverty, margilization, mistrust, ethnic inquisitions nepotism. Frankly speaking, the 8 month election petition sent to the Supreme Court by the violent prone NPP in December 2012 SCARED OFF INVESTORS, while our Donor Partners Refused to Release Funds for the country. Because of the Election petition, Investors were waiting and Donor Partners Held Back. Yes-This is a fact. This led to the complete slowing down of the economy and Ghana entered the year 2012, with a deficit of 1`2 percent coupled with the Energy Crisis and the frequent market fires that were under taken by members of the violent prone NPP members as well as instigating general strikes in the country just because Nana Akuffo Addo failed to become President of Ghana on the ticket of the NPP. Ghanaians have not forgotten that all former NPP Ministers of state and their deputies as well as MMDCE’s stole official files from their various offices away to their HOMES in order to avoid detection because those files contains INCRIMINATING EVIDENCE-How sad; if you doubt it you just go to Mr. Kweku Baako Jnr. and he will provide you with all the official files on the Drillship belonging to the GNPC which could not be traced anywhere except in his residence. Oh; Mr. Document, How dare you? Is anybody listening? I am done but, I shall return when the need arise.” – Aluta Continua’ listening?
“Jaanbie Iwaii” Aluta Continua”.
