Desperation galore: Team Bawumia's Kwahu Easter shame

Bawumia speaking at Kwahu Bawumia speaking at Kwahu

When things begin to fall apart and the centre is no longer able to hold things together, desperation sets in and “anything goes” becomes the order of the day.

Readers would recall that when Team Alan successfully organised the Kumasi Aduru Wo So Health Walk, which found its way into the country’s political record book as the largest political activity to be organised in the country’s political history, the Vice President and his team, were so dazed and confused that they desperately forced the Youth and Sports Minister to institute National Fitness Day, which had the Vice President as its Fitness Ambassador.

The idea was to organise a massive health walk to equalise the mammoth Aduru Wo So Health Walk which was organised by the pro Alan groups. And, when the maiden edition of the so-called National Fitness Day walk, which was heavily advertised and organised with taxpayers money flopped, amidst public condemnation and criticism for their imprudent waste of state resources, they shamefully never organised it again.

And, in their desperate quest to deal with the nightmares of the Aduru Wo So Health Walk, which has haunted them for a very long time, the Vice President and his team, craftily leveraged the national executive of the party under the false pretence of a Unity Health walk at Kwahu Easter celebration.

Unfortunately for them, their deceitful move has been exposed, as the party faithful who were bused to the event are disappointed and angry with the shenanigans employed to hoodwink them to attend a purely party event which turned out to be an event organised mainly to project the Vice President.

A lot of party folks who attended the program thinking that it’s a purely party activity, have really expressed their disappointment with the National Executives on social media for allowing such a thing to happen. Some have threatened to boycott future events the party would organise. Many have angrily said if they knew the program was meant to project Bawumia, they wouldn’t have even gone to the event.

Following the overly expensive BMW launch fiasco, the reality has now hit them in the face that the Bawumia brand is suffocating under weight of credibility crisis, hence the decision of his team to hide under the cover of the party's name to project him. What they did is clearly unlike the Alan events that took place in Kumasi and Yendi.

The Kumasi event for instance bore the name of Alan and, even though Alan himself didn’t participate in the walk, the event was extremely successful. That’s how powerful the Alan brand is. The Alan brand has a spine to stand upright. Any event organised in Alan's name portrays his character and credibility.

The contrast between the two highlights Alan's commitment to honesty and integrity, setting a powerful example for the party and the nation. He is never desperate to lead, albeit it is time to lead us to victory.

There are some who persist in the idea that politics is deceitful. Let’s try another way - the truth!!! Alan represents the way of the truth.

Yours truly,
