When on April 1st (All Fools Day) some pro-NPP radio presenters who see nothing good in the Atta Mills Government, decided to make themselves relevant in the discourse of the nation by claiming that they had been picked up by security personnel in the middle of the night, His Excellency President John Atta Mills chose to make himself relevant in very touching and historical ways.
On 1st April, which was Holy Thursday, His Excellency President Atta Mills decided to go and visit a 104 year old lady admirer of his.
Through the grapevine, President Atta Mills heard that the old lady has been longing to see him and hug him and so the President obliged and visited the old lady at her Asylum Down residence.
Incidentally, this selfsame old lady, was at the Kotoka International Airport in 2007 to welcome the then Flagbearer of the NDC when it was rumoured by Gina Blay’s Daily Guide and other ill-wishers that the learned Professor had died in a South African hospital.
Obviously, the old lady must have been not less than 100 years when she joined thousands of well-wishers to welcome the NDC Flagbearer from South Africa.
So on 1st April, when some unserious radio presenters were pranking around, the very level headed President touched the life of a 104 year old lady.
As if that was not enough of a heart-touching move, His Excellency President Atta Mills then paid a surprise and historic unannounced visit to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
Historic in the sense that never in the 104 year history of the hospital has any President set foot there.
Isn’t it a great coincidence that the President decided on Holy Thursday to visit a 104 year old lady, and also visit the 104 year old Accra Psychiatric hospital?
Who says President Atta Mills is not worshiping God in truth and in spirit?
The hand of the Lord is over President Atta Mills and no weapon fashioned against him shall prosper. Amen!
A few days after His Excellency the President visited the hospital, drugs which were in short supply, arrived “waa waa waa”. Hallelujah!!!
Also, the feeding stipend of inmates was also increased by 100%. May God’s name be praised!!!
Then on 6th April, unannounced, President Atta Mills visited key revenue collecting agencies.
Starting from VAT, the President visited, IRS (his former place of work), CEPS and then ended up at the Finance Ministry.
The next day, the President visited the Long Room at the Tema Harbour, went to the main harbour to interact with fishermen and women, and then paid surprise visit to Meridian FM.
For me Nana Biakoye, I am more than excited at the way the President has taken center stage and is letting everybody know that he is in-charge and he is on top of every issue in Ghana.
At CEPS, I love the way the President talked tough and made it abundantly clear that officers who are in the business of sabotaging the economy will be dealt with ruthlessly.
Indeed, some officers already have fire up their asses because of their corrupt acts which have been captured on video.
I have been listening to the NPP and its hirelings and there is no doubt that they are damn worried about the bold waves that the President’s visits are making.
Time without number, the elephants and their hirelings have sought to create the impression that the President sleeps 24hrs at the Castle and does nothing.
Time without number, the elephants have shouted that the President should stop sitting in the Castle and get into the field.
Of course, the elephants have conveniently chosen to forget that having met a dead economy, the President has had no option but to do a lot of hard thinking in order to clear the mess that Kufuor bequeathed to the NDC Government.
What pleases us the more, is the fact that what the President is doing, is historic in every sense of the word.
Have you ever seen a President walk through the Ministries? Walking from VAT, to IRS, to CEPS, and then back to the Ministry of Finance?
And for us, the intimate manner in which the President interacted with the workers is so heart-warming.
We have seen a picture of the President hugging a former colleague of his at IRS and for us, it is the picture of the moment.
How many Presidents will “stoop so low” in order to reach out to the hard working workers of their countries?
Between 2001 & 2008, we had a President who was hardly in the country.
He was always airborne, getting drunk, and having sex with anything in skirt.
To cut a long story short, Kufuor cared less about the Ghanaian worker.
In the case of President Atta Mills, he has decided to move to government agencies and departments not only to criticize, but to also pat the workers on the back for supporting the Better Ghana agenda.
President John Evans Atta Mills; ayekoo ooo ayekoo.
There is a refreshing wind of change blowing across Ghana and we thank President Atta Mills for bringing so much freshness to governance.
The President has decided not to ensconce governance in a labyrinth of misty theories and postulations and The Ghanaian Lens is so happy that the man we have supported and continue to support, is not only changing the face of governance, but is most importantly, confounding and confusing the critics.
His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills, please don’t rest on you oars; continue with your good work and people centered approach to governance and there is no way the elephants and the naysayers will be able to off-track you and derail your Better Ghana agenda.
His Excellency President Atta Mills; we are proud of you and wish you all the best as you continue destroy any chance of the NPP winning back power with your refreshing and sweet scented approach to governance.
E ye zu, E ye za!!!
