For the past few days one has not escaped the conspicuous and cancerous comments of one PETER JEFFREY AND SARPONG in the feature articles’ comments section. I wonder if the webmaster has taken any notice.
I have come to believe that, at least these two authors or commentators who have been polluting the comment section with foul and ethnocentric comments could be apt to cause havoc to Ghanaweb in particular and Ghana in general. Their pieces have been posted under every single article as a commentary on the issues read over the weeks. However these comments have no relevance to the messages being discussed.
One can find the excess littering by these so called “PETER JEFFREY,’ and SARPONG’ for example, under every single feature articles comments section for some weeks now. It is very obvious that it is the same person posing as SARPONG and PETER JEFFREY. For one appears after the other each time. The same defective Comments appearing on each Feature article of Friday December 21, 2007 must end (READ)

The sad news is that this person may only be impersonating the honorable names of SARPONG and PETER JEFFREY. I am very confident that this malevolence is being perpetrated by the same person. Can Ghanaweb do something to stop these nefarious acts of impersonation once and for all?
My question is: Is there no way for Ghanaweb to protect the integrity of the feature article’s section by preventing one from posting such provocative and ethnocentric remarks-at least repeatedly? At least do something to prevent one from posting the same message more than once under the same thread, Ghanaweb.
Ghanaweb will do readers a great favor if this nuisance can be regulated. Not only that, but also it would attract great minds to help shape policy in Ghana for the overall good. This is an affront to Freedom of speech and expression, to say the least. Why should one take the liberty to insult a particular group of people over and over again without being reprimanded?
My take on this is that Ghanaweb must contact such authors privately and tell them to respect the forum by stopping to litter the comments section with their garbage. One post should be good enough for them to make their point. I suggest that Ghanaweb suspend ones’ (their) privileges if one does not abide by the norms of simple etiquette. This is only commonsense.
