This is just a quick one. For your information, Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V, the paramount chief of Kumawu, accompanied by his sub-chiefs, paid his last traditional respect to the late Kumawu Kontrihene on Thursday 27 August 2015. He led a procession of a great multitude of mourners and well-wishers, attended by "Fontonfrom and kete" beaters, to the late Kontrihene's house to swear an oath to his remain prior to his burial.
He, and his sub-chiefs, fulfilled their traditional obligation to a departed fellow chief or sub-chief. Conspicuously missing at the funeral were Kumawuhemaa and her supporting sub-chiefs that had been declared personae non gratae, not only by Kontrihene's family but also, by the public and themselves.
The crowd that followed Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V, a true royal of matrilineal descent to Barimah Tweneboah Koduah I, the originator of the Kumawu Koduah (paramount) Stool, was so large that some superstitious people believed they were all not living human beings, but partly ghosts. This African belief or expression of disbelief only goes to emphasize how huge the crowd was.
Kumawuman people have defied all odds to tell the whole world that no Overlord can impose any puppet on them as their Omanhene and that the people's will, supreme as it always is, shall prevail.
The people have once more spoken and shown Asanteman and the world who their preferred cum eligible paramount chief is. It will not take long for a posting on the occasion to appear on YouTube so please stay tuned.
Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V, Ananangya dehyee, wo ye Barimah a mu!
All praises be unto God who saw, and knew him, when he was a foetus (in the womb of his mother) and designated him to lead Kumawuman in an appointed time. Who then can resist the will of God from materialising? Is it Asantehene, Asanteman Council or juju? No impediment placed in the way of Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V shall prevail hence the massive public support he enjoys whenever he comes out – as witnessed by all.
On behalf of Kontrihene (the deceased), his family (wife, children and relatives), Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V, Nana Aduanahene, Nana Akwamuhene, Nana Akyempemhene, Nana Nsumankwaahene and the entire Kumawuman public, I say thank you to God.
Kontrihene was laid in state from Wednesday 26 August 2015 until the wee hours of Friday 28 August 2015 when he was interred.
