There are no praise-singers at my dispassionate and fiercely independent end of well-wishers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). We are all staunch defenders of moral and political integrity and loyalty against morbid, deliberate and cynical nihilism hypocritically packaged as objective sobriety on the part of sore losers who are straining hard to be allowed, once more, to hijack the New Patriotic Party and eviscerate the sanguine fortunes of the long-suffering people of Ghana who are yearning for sacrificial, progressive and responsible leadership come 2017. And to do so, these sore losers are also hell-bent on destroying the three-time consensus presidential candidate of the New Patriotic for elections 2008, 2012 and 2016.
Make no "obsessively dumb" mistake, we know what "mandates" are; we also know what deliberately calculated attempts at suavely corrupting the people's mandate are - Nana Akufo-Addo was in legal practice long before the license-renting NPP presidential-candidate aspirant manque graduated from medical school. We will not be ridden roughshod over this third time around. This is a battle the clinical and pathological nihilists cannot win and must not be allowed to win, or our beloved Ghana would suffer untold and irreparable consequences.
The entire world ought to be very conversant with the mischievous, devious and fraudulent track-record of Fifth-Columnists like Dr. McHypocrite; and so rather than engage in fruitless and pointless polemics, we prefer to cut to the chase. Why, for instance, would Nana Akufo-Addo's failed detractor turned faux-neutral critic claim that former New Patriotic Party National Chairman MacManu erred in generously deferring to the astute and winsome guidance of former President John Agyekum-Kufuor but that, somehow, Ghana's former Justice and Foreign Minister does not deserve the same level and/or degree of deference and "errant generosity" from Messrs. Paul Afoko, the present NPP National Chairman, and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, the current NPP General-Secretary? Our elders have a maxim that interrogatively runs as follows: "Is fresh corn any constitutionally different from corn dough?"
In other words, if Dr. McHypocrite genuinely believes that sometimes the modus operandi ought to be re-tuned to synch with the temper of the times, why is that this time around, somehow, the necessary re-tooling of the raw mandate of the people, in order to better ensure that the New Patriotic Party significantly boosts its chances of winning Election 2016, in this particular instance, is being envisaged to be an anathema by the same Dr. McHypocrite? Then again, what I am talking about here? Doesn't the name "McHypocrite" say it all?
There is also a devious assay to sophistically feint a puerile jujitsu gimmick with Nana Akufo-Addo's onetime declaration of his willingness to harmoniously work with a National Democratic Congress parliamentary majority, were the former Justice Minister to be elected President with an NPP parliamentary minority. But, of course, that was a purely hypothetical question, because Nana Akufo-Addo never won the presidency under the context in which such question was raised. Predictably, somehow, Dr. McHypocrite has decided to "obsessively" and "dumbly" resurrect that hypothetical situation as a conclusive proof of his warped logic, to wit, that Nana Akufo-Addo is incapable of working with avowed NPP headquarters detractors like Messrs. Afoko and Agyepong.
There is also a devious element of sophistry in Dr. McHypocrite's argument that ought to be promptly and frontally challenged. Nana Akufo-Addo did not ask NPP General-Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong to privilege his Kumasi Fufuo-Eating pastime over the party's National Steering Committee's emergency meeting that Mr. Afoko's right-hand man deliberately chose to ignore or skip. I also hope that Dr. McHypocrite fully appreciates his imperious use of the term "dumb obsessing," the contextally correct term, of course, being "dumb obsession," when in reality, it was Messrs. Agyepong and Afoko who obsessively and publicly paraded their ballot papers in plain view of the media during the party's super-delegates presidential primary. Did these two topmost party administrators have to so brazenly and illegally defy the rules of secret balloting, knowing fully well that they were in gross violation of the rules of secret-ballot franchise?
In other words, if you are going to talk pontifically about the sanctity of mandates, at least the self-righteous critic ought to know precisely what he is talking about. Mere desperation does overrule laid-down protocol, Dr. McHypocrite! And, by the way, you are rather the "dumb-obsessing" fool here, not the people you presume to be cutting down to your size and abjectly reprobate level of cognition. And finally, even as you have yourself paradoxically indicated in the cases of Messrs. MacManu and Obetsebi-Lamptey, constitutions and mandates are not etched in stone. The people can always change their minds; and so can constitutions be constructively revised to synch with the exigencies of the times.
And in this particular instance, it cannot be gainsaid that the time for change is NOW!!! Amateurishly cobbling together a hodgepodge of incongruous historical events of which you possess the most rudimentary knowledge cannot fool anybody but yourself and your rag-tag band of party poopers. Sorry, Asebu-JFK, but you have boarded the wrong train!
