Homosexuality: When the evil becomes a bargaining tool

There appears to be pressure on African leaders to legalise same sex marriage There appears to be pressure on African leaders to legalise same sex marriage

The issue of same sex marriage has regained its niche in national discourse. For decades now, we have been whining over this important though unfortunate subject matter.

It is conspicuous this time that those countries especially the West that see nothing wrong with it, try to take advantage of our gullible African leaders, who think little about the interest of their citizens, to impose on us, this demonic culture. It is only a worthy war to wage and some of us with all our might, must resist this imminent catastrophe. I have decided to join the discourse with this piece to urge fellow country men and women to rise and prevent this looming dirty practice of same sex marriage.

It amazes me that people hide under the cloak of Human Right Activism to promote self interest that can not improve lives in society. In fact, inasmuch as democracy gives us certain rights, we must note that democracy do not impose things on the people.

The ingredients of democracy is the laws the people promulgate for themselves and history tells us that never has Ghana or any other African country accepted or promoted same sex as a human right. Our constitution stands to vindicate my assertion. Why is it so difficult for so called powerful states to live by their culture and give us same space, to live by ours? What is the secret?

We are not unaware that the West has always strived to assume dominion over other parts of the globe. They first came to Africa in the name of trade, then missionary works and finally colonized us. History is replete with how the Europeans inhumanely treated Africa. They plundered our resources including our active labour force to develop their nation into an industrialized world.

That historical narrative have since given them the onus to continue to manipulate the minds of Africans.

I can state without any modicum of doubt that this posture of the whites demonstrates how ungrateful they are. Their ungratefulness sterns from the fact that, we remain a laughing stock to them after we have, through slavery, moved their nations to first world countries. They never appreciate anything!

They keep working and manipulating all of us through our gullible and self-centered leaders to the detriment of the socioeconomic prosperity of our continent.

For quite that long, we have not learnt any lesson yet? After they have taken away our resources, killed our creativity, rich culture and ruined us poor? Or are we suffering from poverty of common sense too that we can't stand on our feet and tell them, enough is enough? My heart really saddens.

Putting the endless lamentation aside, I think we must deal with the issue outrightly.

Firstly, let those countries especially the United Kingdom know that we have a culture that is very different from theirs. Our identity is largely found in our pride for our culture. Despite their unmeritorious infusion of aspects of their culture to ours, we refuse to annihilate our rich culture by accepting this demonic lifestyle called homosexualism.

Let them keep their riches and global dominance and let us starve to death(God forbid). We don't need same sex here. The people have demonstrated enough abhorrence against it.

As a secular nation that has different religious groups mainly: traditional, Islamic and Christianity, we have common grounds to be proud of. All these Religions prohibit same sex marriage. The holy books point it out as a curse, impurity, sinful, deleterious and unacceptable. In fact, the very Bible these whites came here with, is the same Bible we still have and use.

Has the Bible changed? Obviously no!! That points to you the utmost hypocritical stance of the whites who brought the cross to this part of our world. Let Africans be smart on this and wage a legitimate war against them.

I'm not good at biblical interpretation but I believe this biblical allusion should be enough to tell men of God to speak out and tell the government of Ghana that same sex marriage is immoral, alien and for that matter a curse to national development.

The Bible says in Mark 10:6-9 (King James Version) "But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."

Again,1 Timothy 1:10 (New Living Translation) "The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality, or are slave traders, liars, promise breakers, or who do anything else that contradicts the wholesome teaching."

In simple terms, woman was created for man and man for woman and it is through that divine making, that we have all come into being. We must wise up.

What appears very worrying is, that same sex marriage is now being used as a bargaining tool. Countries who go capping in hand like Ghana are the countries that become the most vulnerable in this matter. The truth is that we can't sell pride for money.

It is on these grounds, I think that the government of Ghana is treading on dangerous grounds by trying to succumb to pressure from the WEST.
There is this old adage that " the voice of the people is the voice of God." The idea of same sex marriage has loudly received public opprobrium yet government continue to play double standard in the matter.

Since the NPP government came into governance, its stance has never been clear. It is now becoming palpable clear. Perhaps, government think that it has extensively manipulated the conscience of the people and now want to greedily in the name of human rights, aid the proponents of same sex just for a peanut. It is obvious.

The recent visit of the Ghana's president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to the United Kingdom and the issues discussed with the government of that country, leave everybody in a state of extreme shock. Why should the president of Ghana still hold discussion on such nonsense and still promised of taking steps to protect such ugly rights? Is that not an indirect way of endorsing and promoting same? The matters arising from this visit now make it lucid that Nana Addo appears to be an ambassador of same sex marriage. Kindly be apprised with the news item below

The worst of our situation is that people remain silent either for political convenience, fear or simply, double standard. Civil society groups, the clergy, traditional rulers are all unfathomably mute!!

If government implement anything to promote same sex marriage, then I can conclude that Ghanaians queued in the scorching sun to vote and sell its dignity by electing the NPP government. The truth is one.

Some of us are ready to sacrifice our lives to resist the imposition of such uselessly demonic culture on the people of Africa against their will just because some politicians have self interest. If same sex is now a bargaining tool that the government of Ghana want to rely on, then it should simply come home and sleep because it can't work. Let the Ghana beyond aid works and we shall remain a country full of dignity. The hypocrisy of politicians is sickening!!!
