The oaths of office, allegiance and secrecy that they have taken are a commitment not only to me as Head of State but, more importantly, to the people of Ghana who have given us the mandate to govern on their behalf.
I wish therefore to encourage all my cabinet ministers and their deputies, regional ministers and their deputies and mmdce's to put Ghana and the people of Ghana first in the course of their work and above individual interests. This may seem like simple advice but when you seriously reflect on it, you come to realize that those of us in positions of authority cannot afford to ignore it. I would have advised my team to always remember that in this job we must serve the country and its people first because we are stewards of the people. It is therefore important that we give back to the people diligence, commitment, dedication and honesty.
As all of you may know, in the last past months, my Government was focused on healing the nation and laying the foundations for growth and prosperity. No one would tell you the difficulties this supreme court petition case send this country through. The expectations placed upon our government by the people of Ghana are enormous.
However, the successes we have registered in stabilizing the economy has brought a sigh of relief and a lot of hope for our people. It has also generated goodwill and support from our development partners across the globe. To continue having these successes , I need to call on everyone that, while we are rebuilding our economy, issues of accountability, systems governance and oversight functions in Government need to be treated with prudence and a highest degree of commitment. That's why I consider it very important for everyone to develop a culture of stewardship in the care and use of public resources.
Hence I call upon each on you to join hands with our Government so together we can be champions in the fight against fraud, theft and corruption in this country. Thank you all for your support and prayers.
May God bless you all!!!!!!! Long live Ghana!!!!!! .
