Columnist: The Royal Enoch
When I was growing up as a child, I'd see lovers. Some of them I'd see dancing to a peculiar music only known themselves. Moving in harmony and strange rhythm so exquisitely divine. Their bodies so perfectly intertwined that they made devils blush, and weep with eternal tears. They'd whisper secrets in each others ears so none could overhear them. Theirs was the eternal youth which only love could bring. Theirs was the sacred path of lovers, which would unfortunately whither with time. But all the same they were in love, and if felt righteous. Some have it that when two halves collide into one, something magical happens. This magic they say is called love. Some also have it that half a work done is no work done at all. Therefore, all the reason to come in full or not at all.
I have often hear married couples referring to their husbands, or wives as their other half. Some of them would even call their partners their better half. I would ask them, if your other half is better than you, then what kind of half are you? The good or the bad half? Interestingly, this question is often met with a friendly smile. On a personal note, I don't believe that a person could be meant for one particular person in a life time. This whole idea of monogamy is a fallacy. Because to me, a man is only faithful as his options. Give a man a wife and he would take her. Give him two wives and he would take them as well. In fact, it isn't in the nature of men to be monogamous. This is the reason why men do cheat on either their wives or girlfriends. Now, any man who would say otherwise is a liar and a stranger to the truth.
To men when it comes to relationship with women, it's sex first and romance later. If a woman happens to be in a relationship with a man, and she gives him all the love, money, but no sex, he will leave her. Maybe not completely. He would hang on to the love and the money, but he will cheat on her. It's that simple. Most intriguingly, you'd hear some married couples saying things like; I have found my other half and he/she completes me. Now, isn't that fresh? What they fail to tell themselves and all of us is that this particular person, was also somebody else's half before they met. And that this particular person might have had a previous relationship with some other person, who said exactly the same. See, I have met some interesting ladies in the past. Ladies, whom I thought were going to be with me like forever. Now, forever came and went, but I didn't see them. These ladies are probably somebody else's wives or girlfriends. But who is to say? In fact, human relationships are like clothes. We buy them and wear them until they become worn out. Then we dispose of them and move on.
Women are no different from the men in this case. A woman could be married to a guy with all the wealth in the world. However, he better not have a dead dick, or she'd start cheating on him so fast. See, she would not necessary leave him, but she will cheat on him just the same. Perhaps even with the guy's best friend. Moreover, most women, either married or single are known to be attracted to men already in a relationship with some other female. Which goes to show that women aren't monogamous as they'd like us to believe after all. Nevertheless, women could be faithfully monogamous if the condition is right, and his money comes in Euros. But trust me, that wouldn't even guarantee much. In conclusion, there is no such thing as my or your other half. Because my or your other half could be anybody else's other half. Time has proven this to be factual. So I'd suggest you enjoy the ride with whomever person you're with, while it lasts. Because you'd never know who would be taking over from you.
