Kufuor’s World Food Prize Is For Stealing & Killing

The greatest insult that can be heaped on Ghanaians is the award given ex-President Kufuor for the “eradication of hunger” by the World Food Programme.

Kufuor himself, in his hearts of hearts, knows he does not deserve it.

How can a man who killed the rice and poultry industries in Ghana, forcing thousands out of their job and pushing them below the poverty line be given an award for the eradication of hunger in Ghana?

Right from the onset of his administration in 2001, Kufuor made it obvious that his sole aim for entering politics and by extension becoming President of Ghana was to make money for himself, his family members and his cronies only.

By the end of his Administration, he achieved his aim. He made millions of dollars from various fishy deals, including the selling of Ghana Telecom to Vodafone for a song which led him to purchase several landed properties in and out of Ghana amongst them being a plush mansion in Morocco and the African Regency Hotel, a.k.a. Hotel de Waa Waa which he registered in his son’s name.

The crimes Kufuor committed against Ghanaians are just too numerous to recount. But chief among them is the role he played in the murder of Ya Na Andani Yakubu II.

In the light of this, the only things he can be awarded for is stealing state money and murder. Awarding him for any other thing else is just an insult to Ghanaians.

As for the NDC government, we find the haste with which they have moved to congratulate him for the award is not only distasteful but also hypocritical. This is one statement many NDC supporters will distance themselves from like any normal human beings will a disease. It is an insult to all those who fought tooth and nail to bring the NDC to power. Simply put, it’s vexation to the spirit!
