Kwakye-Ofosu Is Worse Than .....

If I could get close enough to the man and his stinky mouth, with my surgical mask slipped over my nose and mouth, I would give this Felix Kwakye-Ofosu boy some four dirty slaps upside the head, yank off my genuine-leather waist-belt and severely spank him like one of my nephews. The irresponsible ones, I mean. Indeed, I am rather amused that this woefully under-qualified Mahama Junior Minister would presume to impugn the professionalism of Dr. Frank Serebuor, the General-Secretary of the Ghana Medical Assocation (GMA), simply because Dr. Serebuor has dared to quite aptly put a hopeless National Democratic Congress (NDC) hireling and impudent parasite in his place (See "GMA Must Reprimand Dr. Serebuor - Kwakye-Ofosu" MyJoyOnline.com / Ghanaweb.com 8/8/15).

I am also deeply amused at his arrogance because not very long ago, Mr. Kwakye-Ofosu presumed to put a responsible and hardworking Ghanaian citizen in his place by describing that social and professional superior as "only a technocrat." I suppose that pejorative epithet was actually in reference to a managerial class of hardworking Ghanaian citizens. Back then, I never heard the Deputy Communications Minister apologize for such crass display of disdain. And so just what makes this snot-assed rascal believe that he is any better or superior to, or even more important than the GMA General-Secretary?

I don't know this Mr. Yeboah Boateng, but I sincerely believe that that NDC wag deserved every insult heaped upon his pate by Dr. Serebor and more. Indeed, if he were that thoughtful, as his boss would have the rest of us believe, Mr. Yeboah Boateng would have written down the name "Frank Serebuor" and carefully analyzed it before ill-advisedly deciding to take him on. The Akan have a saying that "We do not slap a person whose bloodshot eyes bespeak of great indignation." The preceding quote is, of course, a loose paraphrasing of the more mellifluous original.

Dr. Serebuor is obviously not a poet like yours truly; in his line of work, he has had to face dire situations that call for the absolute concentration of all of one's professional skills and intellect in meliorating acute human pain and suffering. He is no rambunctious talk-show side-kick or clown like the bulk of these so-called NDC Communications Team Members. And so if he calls Mr. Yeboah Boateng an idiot, he is perfectly within his rights. Throughout the industrial action taken by the GMA membership for the redressing of their conditions of service, I have watched one well-paid government operative after another presume not only to second-guess these hardworking doctors but, even more scandalously, belittle their intelligence and the righteousness of their cause.

It goes without saying that the GMA General-Secretary spoke for all hardworking and criminally underpaid Ghanaian civil servants, when he remarked as follows: "For all you know, this idiot [Mr. Yeboah Boateng] receives free fuel, free call credit and free accommodation. Which public-sector doctor has free accommodation? We pay rent to the government!" It was the surfeit affording of such patently undeserved privileges to snooty and out-of-touch socioeconomic parasites like him that prompted Mr. Kwakye-Ofosu to disdain and badmouth the very technocrats the woeful lack of the best of whom Ghana's economy has effectively ground to a screeching halt. And the sooner President Mahama comes to terms with this very elementary fact, the better would it serve him in his choice of future cabinet appointees.

It is also rather absurd for Mr. Kwakye-Ofosu to think that he can dictate the terms of what he believes to be an acceptable code of conduct to the membership of the Ghana Medical Association. But even more significantly, the Deputy Communications Minister's intemperate use of language and attitude tragically point to how abysmally low our hitherto globally envied Ghanaian culture has descended. Indeed, Dr. Serebuor inadvertently put himself in an avoidable vulnerable position when he attempted to explain the obvious. And that obvious phenomenon was the fact that his professional integrity and that of his colleagues had been called into question by a cynical NDC apparatchik who had absolutely no qualifications, whatsoever, or the moral authority to do so.

Indeed, if anybody ought to be censured, it is knaves like Messrs. Kwakye-Ofosu and Yeboah Boateng who deserve to be. And then, of course, their indiscreet "Dead-Dog" paymaster, President John Dramani Mahama, the man who made it possible for such reprobates and drooling praise-singing buffoons as Messrs. Kwakye-Ofosu and Yeboah Boateng to become part of his executive branch of government. And, oh, has anybody noticed the fact that both Monsieur Kwakye-Ofosu and his immediate boss, Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah are both Okwawu Clansmen? And also how the uselessness of Mr. Kwakye-Ofosu is evinced by the fact that it is the medically trained Dr. Omane-Boamah who has been made his boss, instead of vice-versa?
