The current raging controversy on whether anybody voted abroad or not during the 2012 Elections will surely subside if we get just one person to step forward to state that he/she indeed voted abroad.
If someone steps forward to make that bold claim it will surely lay to rest the hullabaloo, because the NPP supporters have blocked their minds to any explanation that has so far been given. They simply don’t want to know anything apart from what they believe they know.
In an interview with the Daily Graphic on the day that the Electoral Commission (EC) responded to the order by the Supreme Court to provide the NPP with the names and addresses of Ghanaians who registered abroad, an official of the EC boldly stated that no Ghanaian voted abroad.
But the NPP folks have bluntly refused to have anything of this, but believing just what they want to believe or simply believing what they think they know.
That is why it will help the country if someone just pop up to make a claim that he/she voted abroad during the 2012 Elections.
Since the NPP supporters do not want any explanation on the 241,000 people who were registered during the mop-up, I will just leave it like that. You can take a donkey to the riverside but cannot force it to drink; therefore, I will just leave them to believe what they believe or just believe what they know.
I will end with this famous quote by the former US Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, “There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.”
Let’s keep the faith and keep brainstorming till you hear from me again.
